But you'd better make it count!
I read an article this month from Aweber (Beginner's Guide to Making Money with Email Marketing), which went a long ways towards confirming a lot of what I do here at 8DollarFarming.
First, the money quote:
"Email marketing has the highest conversion rates of any marketing channel. ... more than social and direct mail ... And transactions from email are three times more profitable than those made on social media..."
The article then went on to discuss how to sell via email, but that's not our niche; we want to use email as a real estate tool for building your reputation during the years before somebody you know is ready to buy or sell a house.
My 2 take-aways after reading this article:
1.) Email is an incredibly valuable tool.
People are uniquely individual. They have different hobbies. They have different productive times during the day. They use different devices. And they even paint their homes different colors.
But they all read email. When they're interested in it. When it's productive and convenient for them. On whatever device they prefer. In whatever color house they live in.
Give them something worth reading, and they'll read it.
2.) Your eNewsletter better be good enough to stand out from the crowd.
As the newness of social media continues to fade, and people realize that email is a more effective tool for making money, you can be sure that your contacts' email inboxes are going to receive more and more emails.
Simply sending an email won't be good enough. Your email must have an impact to be read and remembered. And I'm not talking about a marketing gimmick impact - simply delivering useful information in an easy-to-read format will have the impact you need.
